Coordinate Conjunction and Parallel Construction



COORDINATE CONJUNCTION
Coordinate Conjunctions are joining words and their main function is to link toogether two different parts of a sentence. There are seven coordinating conjuctions :
for,and,nor,but,or,yet,so.

EXAMPLES :
1.Sinta and Reza went to the market for some vegetables
2.Mr.Boy very kind and generous
3.Her clothes are not new anymore but they still look very nice
4.Sherli didn't study for the exam last night but she could do the test very well
5.Do you think that Tiffany is a good singer or actress?
6.You come early or you miss the competition
7.Neither you nor your classmate can read this book
8.She was study hard so she doesn't failed in exam
9.You come to class to studying not for chatting
10.Her house is not very far from the school,yet Ani is often late for the class


PARALLEL CONSTRUCTION
Parallel construction means using the same pattern of words to show that two or more ideas have the same level of importance. This can  happen at the word,phrase,or clause level. The usual way to join parallel structures is with the use of coordinating conjuntion such as "and" or "or".

Words and Phrases

With the -ing form(Gerund) of words 
- Anna likes hiking,swimming,and bicycling

With infinitive phrases 
- Anna likes to hike,to swim,and to ride a bicycle

(Note : You can use "to" before all the verbs in a sentences or only before the first one)
